What to Send With Your Quote Request

The more of this list you send, the fewer questions we need to ask. If you do not know an item, leave it blank and we will help you sort it out.

  • Drawings: 2D prints with weld symbols and tolerances, plus 3D models if you have them
  • Material: base metal grade and form, such as 316L tube, 304 sheet or 6061 plate, and who supplies it
  • Quantity: pieces per order, release schedule and estimated annual volume
  • Standards: the governing code, such as AWS D17.1 class, AWS D1.6, ASME Section IX with B31.3 or Section VIII, or 3-A
  • NDT and inspection: visual, penetrant, radiographic, ultrasonic, hydrostatic or helium leak testing, and the sampling rate
  • Finish and cleaning: surface finish in Ra µin, passivation, pickling or cleanroom packaging
  • Documents: MTRs, certificate of conformance, WPS and PQR copies, weld maps or first article reports
  • Delivery date: the date you need parts and the ship-to location

What Drives the Price of a Welding Job

Most of the cost in precision TIG work is skilled labor and testing, not filler rod. Read the true cost drivers of outsourced TIG fabrication for a full breakdown.

  • Weld length, joint type and access
  • Material grade and thickness
  • Code and weld class, which set inspection and paperwork
  • NDT type and sampling rate
  • Fixtures and setup, spread across your order quantity
  • Finish, passivation and cleaning steps
  • Lead time, since rush work can mean overtime

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a quote without a full drawing?

Yes, for a budget price. Send a sketch, photos and the main sizes, and we will give a range. A firm quote needs a drawing.

Do you supply the material or do I?

Either works. Tell us which you prefer in your request.

Is there a minimum order?

We quote prototypes, one-offs and production runs.

What if I do not know which weld standard applies?

Tell us the industry and how the part is used. We will point out the standards that usually apply, but the final choice belongs to your engineering team or customer.

Can you sign our supplier quality agreement?

Send it with your request so we can review it with the quote.
